The Man In The Women’s Room: Les  Élégantes Of 2012

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2013

Elegance is for some, natural. For others it’s not. But with some effort we are all able to be elegant. Learning how to harmonize clothes together or how to harmonize it with our silhouette is the secret of elegance. The way we personalize what we wear is also a way to be elegant. We can be original and elegant. Originality in style will never shatter elegance if what we wear is well harmonized. Knowing what is made for us is also a key to elegance. Copy other people’s style is not always a good idea. If some clothes make another person elegant, nothing proves that it will have the same beneficial effect on us.

In 2012, we saw originality take more place than ever is fashion. Inspiration often comes from movies or from music videos. Originality creates trends in fashion and we see more and more interesting trends be born. More classic looks still have their place and they will always have.

With the 2012 year coming to an end, I thought that it would be a good idea to try to elect my choices for the most elegant women i saw in 2012. I don’t want to denigrate anybody. I could have named at least one hundred great looks of  2012. So, if someone is not cited as one of the great looks of 2012, it’s only because i had no place for everyone in a short blog like here. I can’t write ten pages here, I’m limited. Elegance for me, is the little something that a woman can have, in the way she wears her clothes, the way she walks, in what emanates from her. You can put the same dress on many women and the result will never be then same.

One woman who for me represents elegance and class, is the young Princess Charlotte of Monaco. Charlotte Casiraghi is a classic beauty like was her grand mother Princess Grace of Monaco, also know as Grace Kelly, the great actress of the 50′s who was also a fashion icon of her era. Princess Charlotte often wears sports clothes and whatever she wears she is always beautiful. When she wears a chic dress for a Gala, she always brings attention to her.

Etre Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection: Positive Energy!

Wednesday, November 14th, 2012

The Etre Autumn/Winter 2012 collection by Etre Shop is an enhancement of British Workwear as timeless treats, designed and knitted in a modern way with a vintage vibe and a breeze of old London’s fresh air from the past. Navy blue is the dominant color of the collection with classical stripes as the main theme. Deep shades of different colors like maroon and grass green were also used to compliment the color palette. The designs are autumnal handled in a winter-like way by the use of warm fabrics like virgin wool and cashmere to create balance. The collection consists of mainly knits like gloves, scarves, hats and sweaters. An injection of leather is also used in the satchels and holdalls.

Thursday, July 19th, 2012

As we look forward to Fall/Winter 2012 into Early 2013 fashion, Tasha, the Bay Area Style Guru @stylegurugirl, guest blogs for fashbo about a color trend she expects to see this Fall,  Burgundy! ~f1

Fall is right around the corner and some of the top designer trends are already emerging. One of the hottest colors of the upcoming season is Burgundy; this luxe and rich color has become the new black as a “go anywhere” basic.  Here are some of my favorite ways to wear this gorgeous color!

Burgundy is classic and always office appropriate, the rich hue lends an air of sophistication and elegance to any daytime look.

Burgundy 1

Christian Sirano Ensemble.

This warm wine hue also transitions beautifully to evening wear and creates a look that is luxe and sexy all at once.

Burgundy 2

Nanette Lepore Burgundy Lace Dress.

To add a pop of color to any neutral outfit, try burgundy for outerwear pieces like jackets and overcoats.

Burgundy 3

Tahari LoLa Faux Fur Jacket

Dark burgundy polish on short, squared off nails evokes old Hollywood glam and looks right for both day and evening.

Burgundy 4

Essie Nail Polish, " Material Girl"

Here’s a stylist trick to try: Pair gorgeous burgundy pumps with a simple LBD and watch heads turn!

Burgundy 5

Prada Crisscross Pump

Timeless and classic, a quality leather bag in burgundy adds an element of whimsy to any outfit and will become a closet staple.

Burgundy 6

Jason Wu "Mini Miss Wu" Leather Crossbody Bag

Always in style, deep burgundy lips are the finishing touch to any outfit and gives style cred to even the most casual look.

Burgundy 7

NARS Lipstick: Vera Cruz

So this fall, embrace your dark side with luxe burgundy and be prepared for compliments!
