This week fashbo is profiling, Annelie Popovic, a prolific blogger and fashbo poster from the United Kingdom. Much like our other U.K. fashbo members we have profiled, Kitty and LadyM, Annelie has provided us with a large number of fashbo photos and postings on her blog to give us a clear sense of her fab fashion point of view.
1. Tell us about yourself. Where are you from? Can you draw
fashion inspiration from where you live.
I live in London but I am originally from Stockholm, Sweden. Have been here in London for 10 years in September this year. I moved here to be with my then boyfriend now husband, who I met on the internet 10 years ago, before all the dating sites and on-line dating services existed. We chatted for little over a month before I came over to London for 24 hours on a date to see if I liked him and then 2 months later I moved to London and into his flat! London is the fashion capitol of the fashion world in my opinion. you can look as crazy as you want and no-one has a problem with it.
2. What is fashion to you?
Fashion is a way to express yourself without words. You can tell a lot about a person from the way they dress. I believe you should dress for your body and size and not be slave to the trends that come and go every season. And lots of shoes!!! Shoes can make or break any outfit and together with a expensive handbag you can look like a million pounds!
3. How would you describe your personal style?
I’d like to think I dress classically but with a modern twist. I like to feel sexy but having to show too much skin as it makes me feel uncomfortable. I try to wear heels every day and my motto used to be: beauty before comfort, and it still is but I’m not a slave to it any more
4. Describe your vision of a perfect outfit ensemble.
it is a dress that hides the bad bits and enhances the good bits
I have a few of those and I always feel like a supermodel in them when I wear them, like I can do anything!!! With some amazing heels that makes you walk tall and gives you the posture you know is hiding in there some where
5. Name your favorite and least favorite past or present fashion trend/fad.
Favourite most fun current trend has to be the clog!! Especially the way Karl Lagerfeld has done it at Chanel and I’m also a fan of Louis Vuitton’s homage to the 1950 and 1960’s cinched in waist as that suits everyone. Least favourite is the grunge style of the 1990’s it was so depressing and boring!! please let it never come back properly again!!
6. You have a blog @ http://anneliepop.blogg.se, What topics do you like to cover in your blog?
I like to keep it light and fun so no politics and current news, just fashion, make up, shoes, shoes, shoes, my life, travels I’ve done and place I’ve been, today’s look and what I think is hot right now in the fashion world.
7. What is your favorite fashbo you posted?
my favourite is the Chanel picture from Paris and when my husband bought
me my Chanel bag in London
8. Who is your favorite designer or designers?
I wish I could buy almost everything from Chanel, Dior and Louis Vuitton. I do the best I can with the funds I have (or what my husband gives me) and I try to always look the best I possibly can.
9. What is your favorite Online location to shop. What is your favorite retail place to shop?
My go-to place is www.asos.com for everything when I can’t be bothered to step outside and my favourite retail store is the cheapest store in England called Primark, cos they have everything I need and want and it is ridiculously cheap. For shoes I always go to New Look and for make up and skin care it is Selfridge’s department store or Boots the chemist.
10. What would you consider to be your dream job?
I believe I have my dream job, which is to be a modern day house wife. I have no children and all the freedom in the world, what can be better than that? If I could start again with a career I’d like to be a journalist, working for a fashion magazine like Vogue, Harpers Bazaar or Elle.
